Phase diagram of the disordered RKKY model in dilute magnetic semiconductors.

چکیده
We consider ferromagnetism in spatially randomly located magnetic moments, as in a diluted magnetic semiconductor, coupled via the carrier-mediated indirect exchange RKKY interaction. We obtain, via Monte Carlo calculations, the magnetic phase diagram as a function of the impurity moment density n(i) and the relative carrier concentration n(c)/n(i). As evidenced by the diverging correlation length and magnetic susceptibility, the boundary between ferromagnetic and nonferromagnetic phases constitutes a line of zero temperature critical points which can be viewed as a magnetic percolation transition. In the dilute limit, we find that bulk ferromagnetism vanishes for n(c)/n(i) >0.1. We also incorporate the local antiferromagnetic direct superexchange interaction between nearest neighbor impurities and examine the impact of a damping factor in the RKKY range function.

Scattering mechanism of nonmagnetic phase on nano diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS)
This paper shows the scattering mechanism at diluted magneticsemiconductors. The doped magnetic atom produces a scattering potential due to becoupled of itinerant carrier spin of host material with magnetic momentum of the dopedmagnetic atom. Formulas of scattering event were rewritten by the plane waveexpansion and then the electron mobility of DMS was calculated. Calculations showKondo effect...
متن کاملTuning the Magnetism of Ordered and Disordered Strongly-correlated Electron Nanoclusters
Recently, there has been a resurgence of intense experimental and theoretical interest on the Kondo physics of nanoscopic and mesoscopic systems due to the possibility of making experiments in extremely small samples. We have carried out exact diagonalization calculations to study the effect of energy spacing ∆ in the conduction band states, hybridization, number of electrons, and disorder on t...
متن کاملDisordered Kondo nanoclusters: Effect of energy spacing
Exact-diagonalization results for Kondo nanoclusters alloyed with mixed-valence impurities show that tuning the energy spacing D drives the system from the Kondo to the Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida (RKKY) regime. The interplay of D and disorder gives rise to a D versus concentration T=0 phase diagram very rich in structure. The parity of the total number of electrons alters the competition bet...

The susceptibility and specific heat experimental results of the diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are incorporated in a model based on short-range as well as long-range interaction in a random may of magnetic ions. The so-called nearestneighbor pair approximation (NNPA) is applied. It appears that the calculated values of zero field specific heat and Curie-Weiss temperature based on th...
متن کاملTunable “Doniach Phase Diagram” for strongly-correlated nanoclusters
Exact diagonalization calculations reveal that the energy spacing ∆ in the conduction band tunes the interplay between the local Kondo and non local RKKY interactions, giving rise to a “Doniach phase diagram” for a nanocluster with regions of prevailing Kondo or RKKY correlations. The parity of the total number of electrons alters the competition between the Kondo and RKKY correlations. This in...
